Puppy Preschool & Beginner Class

At Vetkind, we offer two class options: one for puppies and another for dogs new to obedience training.

Trainer Details

Brooke, a qualified veterinary nurse, brings a wealth of experience in clinical nursing and pet obedience classes. Her bubbly personality and expertise ensure that both you and your pet will enjoy a fun and educational experience.

Puppy Preschool

Puppy Preschool is a fantastic social and educational tool for puppies and their owners.
Classes are for puppies between the age of 8-16 weeks, their imprinting period.
Through out the 5 weeks we will teach you and your puppies the basic skills needed to have a happy life together.

Classes are held in clinic to create a safe environment where your puppy can learn to interact with other puppies and people.

Puppy Preschool Classes Cover

  • Basic manners (sit, stay, come, drop, loose lead walking),
  • Social interactions
  • Problem solving for common puppy problems (jumping, biting, barking, digging, toilet training)
  • General advice on health, nutrition, handling and behaviour.

Beginner Class

Beginner Class is designed for older puppies who missed puppy preschool and older dogs who may benefit from learning the basics.

It is a fantastic social and educational tool for older puppies, dogs and their owners.
Classes are for puppies and dogs over the age of 17 weeks.
Through out the 5 weeks we will teach you and your pet the basic skills needed to have a happy life together.

Health Requirements

To help create this environment all puppies and dogs must be up to date with their vaccinations and parasite control.

If your puppy or dog has not been vaccinated by one of our three clinics, please bring with you on the first night a record of their latest vaccinations as well as flea and worming prevention.

  • Getting them socialised – how we can do this before they are fully vaxxed

Beginner classes normally focus a lot on loose lead walking throughout.

Both classes are flexible and will focus on the problems everyone in the class is having and what they want to focus on training wise.
